Intoduce yourself guidlines

Just a thought... But when people introduce themselves with a hello I am new... is it really enough?

I am not suggesting personal details.. dont even need to know there names if they dont want... I have nothing against anononimity at all.... But i would like to know if I am talking to male or female and more importantly if I am talking to a Minor or an adult.

Maybe the moderator could have a sticky guidline for newbies so we get at least minor/adlut ... male/female or any other suggestions..?

Not important.... just a thought :)

Yes I know about profiles but if I was to believe them.. some people are hundreds of years old :)

I was told only to say ''hello'' in the intro threads and if anything else needed saying it had to be said in general chat under a new topic heading.

If the profiles are inaccurate what's to stop people being inaccurate in a thread too? Just a thought......................................wande rs off to check own profile.

I agree with you Kipax, If new members were encouraged to say more initially, the replies would make more interesting reading than "Hi, Welcome" from us all. :biggrin8:

Well, I would say more than ''hello'' but I was told not to. (See my previous post) The intro thread would seem to be the ideal place for an introductory chat but the rules of the board are that we should only say hello there and say anything else in a new thread in the general chat.
