private message

hi just sent a p.m. a long one,it just vanished(page cannot be displayed)came up,what happened,don't understand,frustrated.

Roy will be best to answer probably cashman. I don't know if it's the first PM you've sent or whether it was a reply. If it is your 1st one have you enabled PM in your options or you haven't checked the box by accident?

Welcome to the internet. Did you press the back button, if you did you'll probably have found that your message was still there. Every now and again this can happen, it could be down to my server not responding, your isp being rubbish, you pc being worse, or even a butterfly flapping it's wings off the coast of New Zealand.

Hehe, sorry for my rather unhelping remark.. One of my servers has been affected by a major datacentre outage this aft and i have been busy trying to sort things out...

Anyway, I didn't realise that this was a constant problem for you. I thought it happened once but it succeeded the next time. Are you accessing this forum through the correct URL - http://www.accringtonweb.com as there are still some people accessing this site through an old temporary url...?

don't apologise roy were both having a crap day it still won't go 5 times iv'e tried,sent one to entwi thats gone ok but this one wont,says now user not on site or summat like that,iv'e spelt it right don't understand.

Go to the user profile of the user you want to send it to and click on send private message, maybe you are not putting it in quite right..? The PM system is definately functioning.

OK, try a smaller message, maybe the message is to large and my error messages are not functioning properly...?

just tried a short one still didn't go couldn't find user it said,just sent you one dont think thats gone either,yet sent one to entwi at tea time,he got that.? i was just born lucky or what.
