Hello and Help?!
 

Hiya,
Well just a quick intro then. My names Katie, im 20 live in Oswaldtwistle but im currently in my 3rd year of a Media Production TV + Radio Degree at Sunderland University.

I basically came on here to ask for help. Im doing a radio programme for my final year coursework and ive decided to do it on Lancashire and its history, particularly the dialect and tradition. So I was wondering if anyone could help me? Im not sure as yet of the layout of my programme, im in the initial planning stages but any suggestions would be a great help.

Well after reading Gayles reply on my other post I think I might do a large amount of focus of Benita Moore (someone who I stupidly forgot!) Like I mentioned earlier im still not sure to exact layout but I can include, documentary, dramatisationsand such like...its all a bit up in the air at the moment (methinks ive left it til the last minute) but any help or suggestions with any of it would be grateful...if that makes sense?!

If you want anyone to do a reading from Accrington Pals, I'm pretty sure I can rustle up a couple of the Ossy Players to help out. We've just done another play recently that called for broad accents so it's pretty fresh in our minds.

Well as its still in the early stages I wont need to do any recordings till January at the earliest...but would I be able to call upon you then? Youve been a great help! Hopefully when its done and my friends at uni listen to it they'll admire my accent and its roots...and stop finding it the funniest thing ever! :-) (not that they can talk, half of them are Geordies!)

Hi katester and welcome to accyweb. Am sure that there be some members that can help out with your request. Am Accy born and bred but dont think I got a very strong dialect now but then again haven't lost it either.

hi, katester have you tried ANNE PARKINS shop accross from broadway pub in acccy,she is a veritable mine of information, she sell books & all sorts relating to lancashire......i get my benita moore books there for friends abroad....or try ossy library.....well.......welcome to the site & good luck with your research......:wave:

Thanks all :-) just putting together the pitch for my programme as ive got to present it to my lecturers tomorrow...hope they like it! Hopefully after that I should know what kind of information and resources....and people I need
