New member!

HI everyone

I've started working in Accrington just recently. I came across this forum when I was doing some research into the "Ring of Oaks" initiative. I'm really impressed with the numbers of active members on the site - and there seems to be a huge amount of historical information already posted, which I'll work through - so many thanks for that!

Just thought I'd day hello - - and hopefully I'll see some people around.

Paul

Wow, many thanks everyone - what a warm welcome!

As I said above, some of the work I'm doing in Accrington involves the Ring of Oaks initiative - I'll be posting some details as we go along. For anyone who doesn't know, this is a proposal to develop a series of environmental and community projects around the town, primarily linked to the parks and green spaces, which will take the "Oak ring town" theory as their starting point - so any links to threads discussing this particular aspect of local history would be really helpful - I've already noticed a couple of people whose local history knowledge seems to be really detailed, I hope I get the chance to pick brains!

All the best, and thanks again for te welcome!

Paul
Be seeing you
