Hi all from new Black Dog pub owners
 

Hi everyone,

Thought we would come and say a quick hello as new owners of the Black Dog on Union Rd, Oswaldtwistle.

We have lived in and around Burnley and Accrington for almost 10 years and have now decided to move to Ossy to re-open a great pub in time for Christmas.

We are into motorcycles, rock music and generally having a good laugh with friends and family. Also enjoy pool and poker so there will be a lot of it going on at the pub when we open!!!

Wont go on to much as we dont want to look like we are just advertising. We do want to see some locals at the pub and therefore, thought we would just come and say hi!

We do not have a set opening date as of yet due to licencing and councils but we expect to be ready for around 17th/18th December so hope to see you in there soon.

Thank you for the welcomes. Hope to see you in the pub when we open. Heard lots of great things about the pub so making good plans to make the pub one of the best places to visit in Ossy. Cant wait to move in next week!

Welcome!
Don't know if you're thinking of putting bands on in the BD but if you are would you consider 8ft Ego? We are a local, 4 piece band (2 of us from Accy & Ossy) and play classic rock.

Good luck on your new venture and hope it works.i sometimes go in the bay horse and tiger lounge but will give you a try over xmas..and ban that flipping britcliffe first..only joking !!! spig :mosher:

Wow its a fairly busy place you got here! Thanks for all the welcome messages and the good luck messages regarding the pub. Its not going to be easy to get in and decorate and get the doors open in such a short time gap for Christmas but it will be worth it!

Hope you do well in there its used to be a really busy pub - busiest in ossy but quietened down the past few years which is a shame!

Hope you get the crowd back I used to love in there.

Will you still be letting dogs in, I usually pop up for a drink when the suns out with the dog.

The old landlady loved him lol x

Welcome/Bienvenue ... I remember the Black Dog in the 60s ... the last stop on the No. 1 bus route ... If I decide to make a trip back over the pond, will certainly drop by. But I warn you, I have a history of being forcibly ejected from the place:eek::D

Hey all, the Black Dog Pub will have a grand re-opening on Friday 17th December. Hope to see a few accy webbers there. We have a band on, drink promotions and a free raffle with some great prizes to give away all night.

There is a piece in the Accrington Observer (page 3) about the pub today.
