I'm a retiree (or pensioner if you prefer) from the US, but my ancestors are from Accrington and the surrounding area. I ran across the site when doing some genealogical research. There is a mention of my great grandparents on one of the threads. They were Jeremiah and Isabella (Hill) Farrington, operating the Pineapple on Elephant Street in the 1901 census.
I'm also interested in one of the threads about World War I. I was reseaching a great uncle William Farrington buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery and was pleased to find clippings dated 1916 from the Accrington newspaper.
