Hello from Suffolk
I've joined this forum in order to help with my family tree research. My father came from Clayton-le-Moors back before the war in the late 1930s, his father and mother lived/owned the chip shop on Milton Street.
He was Henry Jopson, while they were Fred and Maggie. I have an old photo album from 1927/28 which includes a few local events and some photos inside Royal Mill. I assume from other evidence, that Maggie worked there at one time. |
Re: Hello from Suffolk
Hi there, Welcome to Accyweb. I am originally from CLM & we had quite a few Jopsons on my dads side. My dad's cousin (or 2nd cousin) is a Jopson.
Cracking Chippy was Milton Street back in the day...... |
Re: Hello from Suffolk
J. Jopson attended Accrington Grammar School 1948-53. If he is still alive - now 80yrs old - I would like to make contact with him. Message me if you can help. I used to meet a lady in an accountant's office in Blackpool whose maiden name was Jopson and she came from Clayton.I will try to make contact.
