Accy Family Mortimer’s
Hi all, I’m Karen I have no idea how to use this site so please bare with me on this one. I googled my Great Uncles name Arthur Mortimer & this is where that search brought me.. My Gran was Maud Mortimer/Standing.. Anyone with any info please get in touch, I know the Mortimer’s was quite a well known family. Thankyou :)

I like many more on here did know a Arthur Mort as we knew him, I did not know him very well but do remember him as he used to get down Clayton a bit and have gill or two in the Hare n Hounds or any other pub on the way to Trelly's scrap yard with his horse n cart as he used to do a bit of rag tattin. Can see him now Portly chap a round red face, flat hat long coat and leather brat. Don't know if this is the A Mort your after but must say he was a grand chap. |

Knew Art mort from early 60s used to lurk around the Plantation St area quite a bit, later in life he moved onto the street off Burnley Rd, were the Boars Head Pub was, i forget name of street and i only lived immediately around the corner:o Have to say he was a top geezer and very good nature d.Also had one or two with him in the St Ledger on Plantation St.
