Anybody else without water in the Westwood St / Devonshire St area of Accrington? Been without water for the last hour, rang United Utilities and they've no idea why.

Re: Water Supply
Nope we're fine at tother end of Accy although we had a lot of problems last year & UU were say unhelpful certainly when its cut off suddenly & you can stock & it was discovered a burst pipe further down road, trouble is when you is on econ 7 & water heaters are on at night & it goes off could possibly be dangerous if tank is low.
Dont get me started with UU i had a row with them last week for red lettering me for non payment of a bill they undercharged me for & made my finances go a bit scew wiff. They have but up the bill considerably & was told it was to cover exempt & non bill payers because the gov wont compensate & they dont chase them up so the customers get the extra to pay ..............ggggggrrrrrrr i was sooo mad :( plus haven't the company transferred the call centre to India ?!?!? |
Re: Water Supply
I've no idea Sara. My water is fine at the town centre end of Whalley Rd. If UU have to turn off your water, they have to give you warning. If they haven't warned you then you are entitled to a rebate. They switched ours off for a couple of hours 2 years ago to do some work. We had no warning, so all of my neighbours phoned them and we got about £10 per household back....:D

Re: Water Supply
I once complained that I was on a water meter and had to run the water for 10 minutes so it would go clear after they had been doing some work on the street main. They calculated that is would have cost about 20p and did I want a cheque sending out? I said that I could just about afford it :D
