Re: accringtons x-mas bananas christmas lights
I think the councillor that saw the lights mentioned was wired to the moon at the time which is why they were bought for accy town centre !!!

Re: accringtons x-mas bananas christmas lights
They must be bananas they seem to hang from a branch. Perhaps they represent Peter Brickthick.
Anyone seen anything of the traditional christmas crib this year? |
Re: accringtons x-mas bananas christmas lights

Re: accringtons x-mas bananas christmas lights
I had a good look at them this afternoon, they aren't.
According to EEC regulations they are too bent to be bananas. I thought they looked ok, if a little sparse. |

What else can they be but bananas??? I don't see what bananas have to do with christmas though. They are to bent to be candle flames and moons would be a bit heathen for christmas lights wouldn't they? Thanks WillowTheWisp, they must have only just put the crib there, it wasn't there last Sat. |
Re: accringtons x-mas bananas christmas lights
I think this thread should be sent to the observer to investigate what they really are would make a good chrimbo story and it would also mean we will find out what they are !!
- and a bit of publicity for the board wouldnt go a miss either !!!!! what do you say ? if someone supplies me with an email addy i will do the rest ! |
Re: accringtons x-mas bananas christmas lights

Re: accringtons x-mas bananas christmas lights
I've just seen the offending lights tonight and they certainly do look like bananas. However, a friend said they are supposed to be crescent moons. Personally, I hope they are supposed to be bananas, a much more interesting thing than stoopid moons.

Re: accringtons x-mas bananas christmas lights

Re: accringtons x-mas bananas christmas lights
I've seen them, they're crescent moons under christmes tree branches, you've also got an accross street called a winters night that has three trees a stars and a moon. They do look like banana 's though.

how silly of me not to realise thats what they were ! christmas moons under a tree branch - that old christmas thing that everyone has up in their windows....yeah fine whatever...only in accrington !! christmas bananas rule ! |
Re: accringtons x-mas bananas christmas lights
Yes, well, I have seen moons, but only with stars, or a moon with snow flakes falling above trees, but I've never seen moons under branches, which makes it look like they're bananas. That frame would normaly be supplied with a bstar or bauble there to look like an ornament on the branch. I say we should call them bananas.
