Re: Chimpweek
It's a documentary on BBC1 Granny. A camera crew followed a group of wild chimps around the African jungle for 7 years. They have given all the chimps names, the twins were born to a mother chimp called Gremlin, shes a wonderful mother but left her daughter chimp looking to the youngsters last night but she let them get lost, it finished on a cliff hanger with the twins spending their first night alone in the jungle, I do hope they did survive.
Frodo was the big dominant male, a bit of a bully really but kept his group in order. Last night he'd got really ill from a chest infection and it showed him a shadow of himself all thin and not really much chance of gaining leadership back. I just wanted to know what had happened to him too. |
Re: Chimpweek
I was told to watch it because it was really interesting. I caught some of it tonight, and it was. I don't know what happened to the twins but they were up a tree eating flies, before scampering back down to their parent.
It ended with the worst fire in Tanzania's recent history quickly approaching the colony. Tune in to see what happens next. They should have ended the programme like they do Eastenders. The only difference being this really was a cliff hanger, and it has better actors. |
Re: Chimpweek
lol! Cheers for that Rind :)
It is interesting. The documentary has managed to hunamise the chimps so much it is like an edition of Eastenders, besides the better actors and more gripping cliff hangers, the cast is better looking and theres less fights than in Walford. |
Re: Chimpweek
We are so lucky. Years ago to find out about things we would never have seen in the wild, we could have read a book, and if we were lucky might have seen a photograph.
Through the much aligned box in the corner of the room, we can watch fasinating creatures in far flung parts of the world at close quarters. Brilliant television. |
Re: Chimpweek
It's truly beautiful TV, to get so close and see these animals at their most natural, no cages or training is amazing, well worth the seven years getting these pictures to broadcast.

Every channel has monkeys on this week.
Is it National Simian week? Is that why the Goodies had a whole night at Christmas? Has Do, Do, Do The Funky Gibbon, been re-released? |
