does anyone remember playing on the maypole in the swing park and when jumping off the chain behind hit you on the back of the head?

can remember dancing round the maypole but not on a park anywhere - it was carried around and the girls who went to sunday school danced round it holding ribbons and there was one who sat in the middle and held the pole so then it wouldnt fall over.

I remember when playing on the swings, when you got to a certain height it was called the 'bumps', and you used to get a real jolt that should really have given you whiplash.:)

Rope swings too close to the tree its self. Either hit it or jump of either way pain for you a laugh for your mates. :o

Those elastic things that two people put round their ankles and somebody else had to jump in and out of the middle.

Wrote about it before but getting my friends to push me up and down Stanhill Lane in a wheelchair I found at the tip, that I painted beige with black spots, because I wasn't allowed a bike until I was ten.

we used the greaseproof paper from bread wrappers to polish the slide up milnshaw park..then you could shoot off the slide like a bullet out of a gun, in the summer holidays we all used to play footy up there as well, it used to be about 18 aside .......happy days! does anyone remember "realio"

Wiping my ass at school with that awfull shiny glossy bog paper and smearing crap up my back in the process i think you can still buy it at asda but i cant see why anyone would want it unless its only used when the inlaws visit :D |

I remember people saying sky blue pink with yellow dots on Granny. Has much use has a chocolate tea pot.
I used to love playing elastics Willow. Got many a grazed knee in the process. |

Lying on the 'floor' of the roundabout and dropping or picking up sticks, grazed knuckles/wrists didn't stop us playing it

when i was younger i once got drunk in burnley and spent my taxi fare home on beer , to ease the boredom walking home i played football with a round item i found..
5 mins passed by before i realised i was playing football with a hedgehog :o |
