Was the car displaying a parking disc? As far as I am aware, you are allowed 3 hours on floors 1 - 4 and unlimited time on the top floors. There are signs at the end of each floor indicating if that floor requires a disc.

The parking fascists have booked me twice in 4 days for 'not conforming to parking regulations'. I challenged the tickets both times and they were cancelled. There are details of how to do this on www.parkwise.co.uk. It's worth a try and you can do it online,
Good Luck

How does one prove that the car was parked at 11.30 and that the parking disc hadn’t been altered after the ticket was issued? … You can’t.. So consider yourself legally mugged.
You’ve just been robbed.

If your quick there will be CCTV showing exactly what time you parked. Every car arriving and leaving is filmed and all floors have constant CCTV.

I agree with Entwisi, 11.30 till 14.11 is 2 hours 41minutes so you should not have been fined. Sounds like the jobsworths have struck again!

Funny how there is CCTV on ever floor but they conveniently couldn't find the tape that filmed me.

It amazes me how they believe it's good for the businesses of Accrington to put a time limit on one of the few close parking locations....

I think they need to put some time limit with it being free, otherwise if there wasn't time limit people who work in accy would be parking on there all day so there would be no spaces for shoppers!!

And before anyone shouts at me if I worked in accy and there was no time limit I would certainly park on there :p:rolleyes:

Well surly theres another way to do it that dosn't affect ordinary shoppers? The amount of times i've heard my grandma say 'quick I better get back to the car now as the times running out' and going home, rather than carrying on shopping..

Well if thats the case I would just go back to my car with the shopping I had got up till then, put it in the boot and alter the disc then back to the shopping!!

Re: Arndale Center Parking.......?

If there was enough free parking in or close to the town centre this issue would not have cropped up. As Cyfr points out people are just dashing round then back to the car which cant help businesses as they need people to brows their goods. As for the "parking fascists" one guy I know who worked for them says there are "alledged" targets set for how many "captures" you make per day. Dosnt in my view help anyone wether shopper shop owner or the town one iota!!!

Well, I think it is all very sensible, can go on higher floors if wish to stay longer and there is a lift ya' know. We would be grumbling if the town centre workers were parking there all day, wouldn't we? so that shoppers couldn't get near to the shops.

Can always get on side streets which aren't too far away, compared with say the walk from a car park in other towns to the centre.

Enough time to get round the limitation of shops in Accy anyway !!

At least it is free and not paying heavy charges, yer Gran would be worrying more if she was slipping into the next period of time incurring more charges, and sounds like she has got a lovely grandson to help her with the shopping.
