Camera Phones

I was given a new mobile yesterday from work however it is one of these phones were you can take pictures on. Why I have been given one of these god only know's, I only need it to answer calls and make them.

Anyway afetr plenty of messing about last night I gathered how to work the thing and my question is, if anyone else has one of these gadgets do you know whether you can download the pictures from your phone onto your pc?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Ill pick any replies up tomorrow as off to the stanley now, too nice of a day to stay in, and the I can hear the beer calling me.

Cheers

Re: Camera Phones

Yes they can be downloaded to your pc. If you have a laptop with Infra Red this is the easiest option otherwise if your phone didn't come with a cable you will have to buy one. All the phones I have seen save the pictures in JPG format.

I'll be off to the stanley soon as well!  Come on you reds!

Try reading through all the posts in the forum when it's quiet. You get an idea of who's who then and what people are like.
Sometimes you might not understand a post if you don't know what's been said before! ;D

Re: Camera Phones

They have been around for some time now in Japan. My mate at DoCoMo did a survey of school students and found that they use them to copy schedules, chalkboard info and even pages from textbooks (yup, they still exist). Still quite expensive to send and receive but fine if downloaded into yer computer. All the ones I have seen are JPEGs, too (don't even know if any other format is supported). For most users a decent digital camera (such as the Minolta) is a good a buy right now, but if you quality and full control, best stick to the trusty SLR and a scanner, they cost peanuts for PCs.

Re: Camera Phones

SLR for peanuts were from i have a cannon A1 cost over £300
that is not peanuts.
also a fuji that cost £165
but if you can get them for peanuts i will have a bag full  :D
