dont wanna spend hideous amounts of cash on it...even a refurb one would do...anywhere in accy do them ?

At argos they are advertising 40% off all dysons,,, but i dont know if that will be cheap enough.. at least they will be brand new and have a 12 month guarantee

does anyone know if argos is open today (bankholiday?)
I have seen a vax carpet cleaner which looks not too bad, but are they just purely carpet washers/cleaners or can they be used to hoover up as normal - sorry if I sound terribly thick but never thought about buying one before now...

yes can be used as normal just make sure filters kept clean/dry.
think argos open b/hol otherwise refurb shop on whalley rd nr clarkesons cycles seems to do cheap cleaners

i got a dirt devil from ada pretty cheap but theres a hoover shop on whalley roa nextto the hope and anchor tha does refurbs

Asda do a cheap cylinder vacuum, it's around £18 (not the dirt devil).
The brand is Pacific, I bought one for my work room and can recommend it.
