Anglican modern Catholic?
I went to a wonderful concert tonight at Newchurch.
Opera North and Dickens, all by candle light in this beautiful gothic church, with the wind howling around outside. Very atmospheric and Christmasy. It was a beautiful place, lots of carved wooden flying buttresses and statues and gold. I assumed it was a Catholic church, especially as it was called St Nicholas's. On trying to find out when it was built (1511) I came across their website. It says it's 'modern Catholic' and 'part of the Anglican communion'. Anyone know what that means, because I'm lost? http://homepage.ntlworld.com/duncan....ayre%20012.JPG |
