retro kitchens units...where to buy ??

right !, in my kitchen I have the original 1950's kitchen units with the sliding doors on them..in that baby blue colour..I also have the original patterned worktop that came with them..I am sure the older posters on here will know what I am on about...

but what I want to know is where can I buy the wall cabinets to match said units...you know the ones I mean..they are white and have the glass sliding doors on them thats slightly bevelled...
the units are in perfect nick and I dont want to rip them out for a new modern kitchen as the original kitchen is better in my opinion..

I have been trying to track 1 or 2 of these wall cabinets down locally but to no joy...can anyone tell me where I could get one from or if someones looking to sell then even better... ;)

thanks

buy plain units and paint the doors yourself to match

have you tried visiting an antique shop or and see if they have any contacts as they often visit homes of people who may still have original kitchens

We threw teh ones that were in our kitchen when we moved in.

You could try bygone times at eccleston, or Botany Bay.

There is also a vintage furniture place in haslingden, you can see it from the bypass as you go past before you reach carrs, You get to it from teh end of Grane rd.

No harm in going for a look but I can't remember seing anything like that in there when I have been, you might like to try Belgrave antiques at Darwen, they do old furniture etc but again cant recall seeing kitchen units but have seen plenty of old furniture in there

Why not find a local joiner and ask him to make some for you? That way you can get exactly what you want.

you could ask the lady that owns the "Curiosity shop" in the arcade, I know she offers a search and find service: details on my site: under Arcade Shops.
