anyone know any good movies on dvd lately? seen the ones on sky and think its time to buy a few:o , any ideas??? :confused:

Watched 3 over Crimbo Panther,Snakes on a plane,Adrift & Superman Returns.Not exactly oscar winners,but enjoyable & a bit of a reality break.The Pirates of the carribean (dead mans chest) is also out.Dont do what the missus did & buy 3 for 99p each at Wilkos.They are f***ing sh%e.;)

Hey try blockbuster they have a fooking good sale on. I went in yesterday and got about 12 dvds for 42 quid. All good ones too.

have you considered online DVD rental? we've used it for over a year now. plenty of films to choose from, no late fees, all latest releases etc.

not sure how much SKY movies costs a month but we pay £15 a month for 3 discs at a time. realistically that means you can get through about 12-15 films a month if you have teh time to watch them. or as we do ~7-10 a month.

Wolf Creek is quite good,one out this week which i've been waiting for is Severance.Danny Dyers in it(football factory,the business),a bit tongue in cheek.

I got hostel but not seen it yet, is it any good or shall i not bother.....no i didnt buy it, got it as a xmas present! :D

Its ok but for a film m,ade by the same people as the great saw movies it leaves a little too much to your imagination instead of showing the gore.

Im in the States so i dont know if it is out yet on d.v.d. in the UK but a really good horror is called Decent. Highly recomend it. If its not out yet watch for it being released and watch.

I really liked Hostel, I've got the uncut version from the States. Quite a lot of people say it's too nasty/gorey but I really liked that it was a Hollywood movie set in Europe. Reminded me a bit of An American Werewolf in London because of the setting. The idea of being losing control whilst being in an unfamiliar country.

Severance had to be one of my favs for 2006 Danny Dyer a good British actor he was also in a film called the business which is also good.

Also another good British film was The Decent -

Creep is a good horror

I haven't seen Little miss sunshine yet but thats suppose to be good as well

I was a little disappointed with Pirates of the Caribbean 2 - I thought it was too complex
also Ice age 2 was a little more disappointing

I went to see Pan's Labyrinth at the corner house art cinema in Manchester. The film was good but the screen just don't live up to modern day Plasmas

A film called 'dead man shoes' was surprisingly good.

Hostel was very creative

Yes it is panther came out a couple of months ago just in time for xmas! I didnt enjoy it as much as the first one - it was setting the scene for the third one.
