they probably use green cabbage instead of white ;)

Yeah, I believe flashy's right. I'm not even sure I've ever even see a white cabbage and I've gardened for ~40 years.

Well done Flashy, that would explain why it tastes so bitter .. yeh, come to think of it never saw any white cabbage myself there (just love it raw) .. don't know what they are missing. Wonder it be possible to grow ? Or could start new export business ?.. :D

Thanks for the pic. Ian. That's not as white as I would have expected. Can you give me a couple of names of the varieties you guys grow or buy?

It looks whiter than that the further in you get and the crunchy stuff put in cole slaw here is almost totally white, not of that pale green looking stuff.
