Why would you want someone hitting you around the head?

Re: Boxing for women
I would really just like to get into the sport so if anyone knows any clubs i would really be appreciative. I usually have my head in books studying so i want to get into something active and challenging.

Re: Boxing for women
There is a boxing club in Haslingden attached to the public hall. I dont know if women go there or not.

Re: Boxing for women
why would you want to box?
you'll geta flat nose....lol |
Re: Boxing for women
are the men just trying to put me off because theyre afraid of the women gaining some sort of power over them?
I probably already have enough anger to give YOU a flat nose, i just want to learn to control it so if u've nothing useful to say, why dont u just not bother saying anything? |
Re: Boxing for women

Sorry, I can't understand why men want to box either. To be honest I am surprised it is legal to beat the **** out of each other. |
Re: Boxing for women
The sport isn't neccessarily to beat the crap out of eachother but to out move eachother, metaphoricly a bit like chess. You don't neccessarily have to even hit someone to win a boxing match.

Re: Boxing for women
Have u ever watched the famous Nicolay Valuev? He doesnt neccessarily move very much most of the time, he just knackers out his opponent and then gets them with a few easy punches.
Obviously he has his size as an advantage lol. I think i'll look for a group outside of accy anyway as im at uni in september and will thankfully be away from GobbinLand for a while :D |

Re: Boxing for women
I've never even seen a fight in town in the places where i go.
Obviously nobody knows any clubs but if anyone does now of one and read this message feel free to PM me with the details. Obviously many of u don't agree with boxing as its a violent sport but how many of u vote labour and support the war ;) |
Re: Boxing for women
If its a case of controlled relise of pent up anger, frustration annoyences and getting fit then give it a go. If you cannot find one then why not a martial arts club that might work just as well.
