What's the most unusual tipple you've ever had?

I might be naive but we were out for a few drinks last night and my partner came back from the bar with his usual bottle of Bud, and for me he placed on the table an empty glass, a bottle of blue wkd and a glass of port - poured the blue wkd and the port into the empty glass and told me it was a cheeky vimto!

I couldnt beleive it - it tasted exactly like a glass of vimto!

Ok, so I may not get out much - but what is the most unusual alcoholic drink you have had?

Suz x.

You dont want to try it Mick, some varieties of Absynth are banned in this country because they make you hallucinate!!! :D

I've had some strange drinks Blue WKD, Orange Reef & Orange Bacardi Breezer - tastes just like those little sweets, Refreshers.

There was one was called a Flaming Lambourghini, they used to sell in in Vodoo Lounge, thats in a martini glass with Sambucca in, and Kahlula round the egde of the glass. Then 2 seperate shot glasses, 1 with cream & 1 with Blue Bols. Then you light the Kahlula, stick your straw in and get someone else to pour in the cream and blue bols. Its nice but lethal (if you ever have one, tie you hair back!!!)

At college used to drink Green Monsters.

Snakebite with Blue Bols in.

Powerful stuff.

Only drawback was green stools for the next few days.:D

Thats a very popular drink round here ,,, but to me you might as well pay for a vimto...( i am tight me)
I love pernod ,lemonade and peach snhapps mixed together,, with a cherry and ice, "we call it a rat trap special, but i wont go into that",,,
you can ply me with anything except whiskey,, which is my hubbies tipple..
when we used to go on p&o, we got some fantastic concoctions....

When I lived in Saskatoon, I attended a Ukrainian wedding (they last three days) in the village of Wakaw. They served home brew (moonshine) cut with store bought vodka to lessen the kick, and added a little tabasco to mellow it out. Ouch, eh.

Read in a certain music paper back in the late 80's that a few of my favourite bands of the time were knocking back Malibou mixed with Baileys,so thought i'd give it a go & got in a bottle of each for that Xmas/new year. Can't remember what it tasted like but i was fast asleep in the pub, lunchtime new years day:o

Re: What's the most unusual tipple you've ever had?

My husband was working in Saudi Arabia and I went out to join him. Alcoholic drinks were (still are?) forbidden but he'd managed to get hold of some illegally distilled stuff. He'd got a recipe for a drink very similar to Bailey's and made a batch before I arrived. He poured me a glassful and stood back, smiling and pleased with himself, to watch me take the first sip. I tasted it and I couldn't help pulling a face - it was thin, watery and horrible.

It helps if you know the difference between condensed milk and evaporated. One's thick and sweetened - the other's not. ;)

Early 80's in the Astronaut prior to a heavy night in the Apollo, my favourite used to be pernod and orange in a pint glass with a can of breaker poured into it. It tasted just like Jusoda but brought on blackouts so you couldn't have too many in any one night or people wouldn't speak to you the day after, and "friends" would do this:oke2:

Re: What's the most unusual tipple you've ever had?

I was 16 working as a dishwasher in a local diner. Found some old wine in the cellar next to the oil furnace. Shared it with my Mates that night and got first fairly drunk then later very sick. Found out later that it had been forgotten down there for ~10 years and had probably gone quite bad. Yeah, I should say!
