We didn't get any yesterday or today. It's a bit of a problem as I am waiting for a hospital appointment.

Maybe it's a work to rule type of strike? Hang on - I know a postman. I'll ask.

No post for me today either but just because there is a strike doesn't mean every postman has to go on strike. Some postmen will work if they aren't part of a union as they wont get any pay.

My teachers went on strike last year but I still had lessons because a few couldn't afford to actually strike.

That's very true actually. You do still get a few going in when the rest are on strike.

And if you bare in mind alot of students will be taking on temp jobs right now as they've finsihed their exams, they wont be gonig on strike.
Trade unions can pay out for strikes but they wont pay out as much as your wage normally and people have morgages to pay aswell and wont be able to afford a day off, thats why my law teacher didnt have a day off for the strike, her budget wouldnt allow it.
