Can anybody tell me where the Daisy Hill area of Accrington is?

Daisy Hill - where WAS it?
 

Hi, its more a case of .... "WAS" than is. It was the cottages on Manchester Road, just higher up than the Park Inn pub and the property facing them (still there!). The main block of property was immediately after the entrance to Shop Lane, which was the original entrance to Broadoak Printworks. I believe the cottages were used mainly by employees from there. We are talking about 1797 when they were erected. It must be a long long time since they were demolished, because there are old postcards of Oak Hill Park, showing tall trees on that side of the road. These old cottages would have been built very soon after Blind Jack o'Knaresboro built the new turnpike road. There were 24 cottages at Daisy Hill, besides those in the row still existing just higher up than the Park Inn, and below Oak Hill Park gates. The corner property on Manchester Road, who's entrance is on the side of that cut through from Manc. Road to Hollins Lane, have actually called their cottage Daisy Hill.
Do you have ancestors who came from this area of town?

Just rung a friend up who lives in the terraced row on the site, and he says his property was built in 1911
