Bond or Bourne?

Ok which one do you prefer Bond films or Bourne films?

BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Matt Damon dismisses 'dated' Bond

Me - i havent seen any of the Bourne films only the bond films. But really who cares anyway?

Re: Bond or Bourne?

The Bourne films are really good and Matt Damon very pleasing on the eye, my vote goes to Bourne. Looking forward to watching the new film.

I'm not keen on this type of film at all...having said that, I'm not a big film fan anyway.

I think ipcress file... deffo seen a couple of harry palmer films just cant remeber titles.... hmm not bad but not bourne... for a spy i think edward woodwood was best as callan... and his sidekick lonely .. :)

cashman 15-08-2007 19:33

Re: Bond or Bourne?

Re: Bond or Bourne?

I find the Bourne films SO much more dramatic, realistic, and "believable" than any of the bond films (IMO)

Bond any day. Classics.

Matt Damon is fantastically rubbish actor & the films are equally awful, in comparison to the books.

Re: Bond or Bourne?

George Smiley as played by Sir Alec Guiness gets my vote as best all time spy/agent .

Daniel Craig is the best 'James Bond' since Sean Connery , IMHO all the others in-between were tripe.
The Jason Bourne character as played by Matt Damon is good , but I think most of the credit in this series belongs to the Director and Camera people.

:D :D

Re: Bond or Bourne?

Had the unfortunate experience of watching the Charlie's Angels II movie. In my opinion it was so horrendously over the top. I thought it just terrible. Unlike either Bond or Bourne, I saw absolutely NO entertainment value in that one. IMO

Both were on last night, Supremacy on an hour after Identity.

I missed most of the first film but saw Supremacy, thought it was well worked but Matt Damon is such a one-dimensional actor it spoils the whole film.

I really have to disagree here, Matt Damon is totally believeable in this role (and he was excellent in The Talented Mr Ripley). The scripts are well written, the direction is superb and the action grabs you from beginning to end.

You do not have to suspend belief in these films because the really scary thing is all the public monitoring technology shown in the three films is here now.

agree about Mr Ripley, think he was excellent as him, dont think he carries Bourne off half as well, bit wooden for me, but hey lifes all about opinions.:)

I don't like Bond films and have never even heard of the other. Mick made me sit though Diamonds are forever every evening it was on at the pictures, when it first came out.
