Re: Do blind people dream?
The answer is yes.
A woman in this study dreamt she was at a table, and replied how did she know it was a table, replied through touch. Hurovitz et al.: Dreams of the Blind 'The dreams of the blind reveal no great surprises in comparison to those of sighted dreamers, but they are just different enough on some dimensions to be of potential theoretical interest.' |

Re: Do blind people dream?
It depends on the degree of blindness. Some people who are registered blind do have partial vision, blurred imagery or dark fuzzy things. In which case their dreams are of blurred or fuzzy things. I had a friend who could only see something if it was about 2 inches in front of her nose and even then it was blurred. She couldn't understand what I meant about an out of focus photograph because they all looked like that to her. When she dreamed she saw things which were close but only had a vague awareness of distant things, just like she did when awake.
Another friend lost his sight as an adult and he still dreams with vision. |
