Tidal Flood to hit the East??

Tidal 'Threat' On East Coast |Sky News|UK News

This does not look good, and I think I would be seriously frightened if they had named my town as one of the worst to be hit :(

Fingers crossed they are wrong about how bad this will be.

It was mentioned on a weather forecast this morning, but that was all, no big fuss was made. Didn't know the PM was involved at one of his COBRA meetings. Glad I'm not in their shoes. :(

The warning has past your area now though jacky. It is for south east now.

Don't think they will be having much sleep tonight :(

Re: Tidal Flood to hit the East??

It's East Anglia where the problem lies, Norfolk and Suffolk. A lot of the area is at sea level and a tide of just a few feet could cause tremendous damage.

We have had crappy weather too today, winds and rain, but south east coasts are getting it worst because the Moon is dragging the tide in the wrong direction. Thats why they will get it worst tonight.

I think the problems may be south of you by now...not 100% on that. Try your local radio to see if they have info if you are concerned, they ay be able to advise.

There is a phone number you can ring on the site you have just put up.
It says they will do a post code check to see if you are in a high concern area.

Yup, though the accommodation is quite a fair way away from Hull, around 30minutes bus. Accommodation only got flooded due to rain last year, so I guess i'll be fine :)

Its not meant to hit until 4:30am according to what i've read. I think the BBC might be blocking international viewers for the videos for some reason. (I'm accessing over a french proxy so can't see them :<)
