Not a personal one, this, but I used to work with a chap named Bond. His dad was called James Bond and his dad's sister (married name) was Elizabeth Taylor. They witnessed a car accident and had to give their names to the police who almost arrested them for wasting police time. :D

That's a good one :D-- I remember another true story which happened to a local.
When stopped for a motoring offence and asked for his name etc, he replied ---

"Emeric Eccles, pharmacutical chemist of Oswaldtwistle"

The policeman sighed and put away his notebook. :D

The policeman couldn't spell - it was a long time ago (when I was a child in Ossy, and it 'went the rounds')
Mr Eccles is now deceased and perhaps policemen are better at spelling nowadays :D

That may have been when he crashed into my Dad's new sports car, which he did in 1962.

It was earlier than that -- he had glasses like pint glass bottoms and got stopped fairly often. I don't think he would pass a test by todays rules :D

I remember Emeric Eccles. My dad knew him well and it wasn't until I heard him, one day, refer to "Emeric" that I realised what his real name was. Up to the age of 10, I though he was called Emery Kettles. :D
