I too have enjoyed tracing my family tree. Not with the desire to discover Royalty or significance. For me it's more out of trying to respect them by keeping them relevant. Also I like discovering where they lived, what they did, how they lived and how they died.

Until I began digging, no one on my dad's side knew exactly where in England his grandfather was from. I found that he was from Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire. This is but a stones throw from where my mom's dad was from, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Lancashire.

My parents met and were married in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. However, unbeknowst to them, some of there recent relatives were almost neighbors!

Wicked cool eh Jack? I bet you are now chomping at the bity to dive in. Heck, might even find a bit of AshtonUnderLynian blood in your background Mate!:p:p

Do you know Steeljack, it is vaguely interesting to some people - perhaps people who never knew of their ancestors, possibly even their parents .................. We are, of course, all different and by no means feel the same way about things but just picture this scenario - young children come home from school and tell you they have been asked to do a family tree - they then have to go back to school and admit that their Mum doesn't have a clue! Then, of course the grandchildren would like to know ??????????????? Actually you begin to realise you would quite like to know yourself!
