Doh! Heavy rain = NO sky signal

Does anyone else have this problem, or does my dish need repositioning?

Are there never any weather conditions which cause you to lose signal?

We get problems when there is bad weather....i.e. very heavy rain, snow etc.
It really hacks me off.

I have Freeview as a backup because the Sky signal fails often (glad I dont PAY for Sky or I would be well peeved.)

dont know if it makes a difference but our dish is really high up because of all the trees....

Re: Doh! Heavy rain = NO sky signal

It must be all the trees nearby = weak signal
I cant have the dish on the roof because I am in a rented flat

Mine sometimes goes when the weather is very bad. It's ok tonight, but it's so exposed at the back of my house that when heavy cloud/rain/snow comes off the moors, the signal breaks up.

I have a view of the moors at the back too......nice isn't it :)
I suppose lack of Sky signal sometimes is a small price to pay for a beautiful view :D

PS sometimes hang out of the window and shout 'Heathcliffe' --but he never comes

You don't get interferance as such with digital satellite. You either get a picture or you don't. If the signal is poor you may see bad pixelation or the picture freezing.
You should not really have problems with heavy rain. I suspect you dish need re aligning or has been poorly installed. Some of the installations by the Sky engineers are not very good, the worst are usually the sub contractors. I personally think they should install the slightly larger zone 2 dishes this far north especially with the quad LNB's that are used with Sky+ and/or multiroom (zone 1 - 48cm zone 2 - 60cm, they are both the same shape). The 48cm zone 1 dishes are usually ok up here but in very bad weather you can start to loose signal.
