I have been often been confused with polish and chech people and im not of them so police could get confused as well and nobody should say nothin until they know |
Re: anybody know them?
Agree Yolanda, anyone can put on a dodgy accent just to throw the sales assistant off the scent, also dont think they look that different.

You are okay they are looking for males. :) They are giving a general description, therefore anybody looking for them knows not bother reporting anyone who looks like a ghost or coloured people. Standard procedure for the police. |
Re: anybody know them?
Thanks grego, the amount of people who asked me if im polish is unreal, and some think im welsh so there you go heheh

Re: anybody know them?
Welsh language has many similarities to Hindi from Northern India
BBC NEWS | World | South Asia | Searching for the Welsh-Hindi link Rumour has it that celts originated in northern India and gradually migrated across Europe in ancient times. Why your spanish accent (a latin language) could be mistaken for Welsh is unfathomable. |

Re: anybody know them?
Just realised, i applied for a job there not long ago! But there is no way i would have given up the money, im too stubborn. Probably would have thrown bottles at them. Hope someone recognises them though as people who threaten people with knives deserve to be shot imo.

Re: anybody know them?
I hope someone recognises them and informs the police.
My daughter had a friend when she was at junior school and other friends at home thought she was German but she was born and brought up as Lancashire as anybody, just spoke slightly differently. |
Re: anybody know them?
First rules of retail ....if someone is armed and asking you for money.... give them the money and ask if they would like a carrier bag !
It's that simple. Companies have insurance to protect them from these losses, you sticking your neck out or getting all macho will only result in you getting hurt or worse. It's not worth the risk regardless of how much " company loyalty" you have. Simple. |

unless its your own money i guess,,, then i agree with that |
Re: anybody know them?
I'd even do it with my own money. It's not worth the risk. When I worked in a bank we were told what to look for to later identify thieves but we were always told to do everything they said.

Re: anybody know them?
The way i see it is if they get away from the shop where i am they will no doubt do it again somewhere else. So i believe i should atleast put up a decent level of resistance to prevent that from happening. Infact i just had am idea, why dont shops have a similar thing to banks with the dye that ruins the cash, surely this stuff could be put in an aerosol can, that the shop owner/assistant could spray in the face of the thief, because as i understand it this stuff takes weeks to come off, making them easy to trace.
|
Re: anybody know them?
i think thats a good idea to spray them in the face with dye but they might attack you back so like willow said its not worth it as the Companies have insurance.
|
Re: anybody know them?
If I was faced with an armed robber I wouldn't hesitate to hand over the money. Why would you want to argue? As has been said, these companies will get it back on their insurance so it makes no difference to them.
Acting hard and refusing to hand the money over could result in you being shot or stabbed / kicked to death. Hardly worth it. :( |
Re: anybody know them?
Yeah the point i was trying to make is that if i gave up the money that surely they would move on to another shop and put some one else through the trauma of being held at gun/knifepoint. So by refusing to give the money i would hope that would stop them from subjecting the same emotional distress on anyone else.

Just think of your son growing up without his daddy and hand that money over!!! |
Re: anybody know them?
Yeah i can see your point, and obviously my lad would always be my main priority. To be honest though nobody can say what they would do in that sort of situation without it actually happening to them, adrenaline makes people do strange things.

And at the end of the day, even if they are eastern european, it does not mean to say that they have not been born and bred in the UK. |

Re: anybody know them?
Dont want to add fuel to the debate - but my partner works in a factory with some polish people -some are very nice some seem ignorant or maybe just want to keep themselves to themselves . One has shown that he has an exemption card so that he doesnt have to pay for prescriptions and such like - god knows what else he gets and yes, it is known that he works - maybe us non-european workers should also ask for them and see what the answer is. My partner is also expected to work as much in silence as possible, yet all he can hear around him is loud polish conversations that take place across the factory floor and nothing is said to them. Dont get me wrong i dont have a problem with anyone coming into the country and working but lets keep it equal what's good for the goose is good for the polar bear :I i dont think it is the people that gets peoples back up - it is the "negative racism" that british people suffer.
|
Re: anybody know them?
I used to have the prescription card, im spanish but my child was born in england to my english partner. i dont have it anymore as we earn to much money so we can actually pay for our prescriptions
