Pubs
Not actually Blackburn Rd. Accrington but Blackburn Rd. Rising Bridge, Many years ago there used to be a pub at bottom of Hazel Street (opposite Hollands) does anyone know what it was called or how I can find out, It was probably more than 60 years ago.

Re: Pubs

Re: Pubs
The only one i can think of is the Rising Bridge Working Mans Club and that was on Hazel Street but it was at the top it closed in the early 90's. Its now a house. Never heard of one across the road from Hollands. There used to be a shop and then the row of cottages and bash methodist church across the road from Hollands, and on the same side as hollands there was a shop at the end of the row of houses.

Re: Pubs
I know about Rising Bridge Working Mens Club also the two at top of Alliance St. Beehive on one side of road The Railway on the other both now houses. the one I am on about was def at bottom of Hazel St.
corner house on Hazel St used to be a pub. The end house and I think the two next to it were all one at one time. They split them up into houses. Thats why the end one is so small, it is what was left over after they made the other two. When we lived there it was where they had kept the barrels. On the side of the house it had slates advertising. I can't remember what it had been called. It was never a pub in our lifetime though. Other than that that ****** said he doesn't know, Above received from a reliable source |
