Never been on it, wouldn't know what to do. Actually i might have a look now.

Re: Ebay addiction?
I am an Ebay addict too.
Sometimes, if there is stiff competition for something I want, I SNIPE using JustSnipe: eBay auction sniper software offers free snipe every week It is free for 5 snipes a week. I do tend to look there first, before looking at normal retail sites when comparing prices. There are lots of Ebay shops selling new stuff at knockdown prices. |

Re: Ebay addiction?
I don't use e-bay often, my sister in law got hooked on that and bingo, she and my brother are now divorcing and selling the house to pay the debts, you are probably not as addicted as you thought, I would advise against spending more than your income in any one week though, or could be a very slippery slope. Take care!

Im sorry to hear it got that out of hand. I am very careful and always check i actually have enough money to pay the bill before it comes in and before i bid,its just i have never spent so much time on the site and i have been a member for a couple of years now.I can't imagine getting anywhere near the situation your brother is in,lets hope they both get sorted. |
Re: Ebay addiction?
We are an Ebay household..........CD`s , Dvds, Shoes,Trainers,Cosmetics ,Jeans the list is enless but we use it mostly to recycle our kids clothes, which with 2 girls in the house keeps us very busy as you can imagine!!

With no warranty. Too much 'new' stuff on ebay is as cheap in Argos and you can take it back to Argos if you don't like it. |

quite true , if you use ebay a lot like we do its a case of knowing you`re prices and checking it out before you buy. |

we have only ever sold one thing on ebay, do you need a business account if you sell more than a few things each week? |
Re: Ebay addiction?
I assumed if you were doing it as a business then thats when you upgrade to business account, but if not then the normal account is fine :D
*i may be wrong.......it happens sometimes* ;) |
Re: Ebay addiction?
is there a limit to how much you can sell on the normal account in a certain time
|
Re: Ebay addiction?
Im sorry i have no idea :(
I just do the shopping side of things mainly :P |

Personal accounts on paypal can receive a limited number of credit or debit card payments per year (2 I think it is) and are assessed a transaction fee. Only Premier and Business accountholders can receive unlimited credit or debit card payments. so if you sell a lot on ebay, you have to open a premier account on paypal;) |

Re: Ebay addiction?
I sold 7 things in Nov/Dec 2006 - then was told that I needed to get a business account before I sold more. I can't remember the wording of the mail I got but recall something about '3 items in any 12 month period' ( were all Paypal sales)
|
Re: Ebay addiction?
I've only got a standard account and we had over 150 transactions both buying & selling last year on Paypal! Not just on Ebay either.
LOL - just logged to find I'm a Premier account! What a div! |
Re: Ebay addiction?
I now further recall that the last buyer used a credit card and that seemed to be what triggered the mail I got - the others must have used a Paypal account linked to a current account
|
Re: Ebay addiction?
I've just lost 2 items i was bidding for on ebay in the last second!! Well gutted I am. I was after a samsung digimax 3000 camera.........mine got stolen last year and the replacement I got is crap!! Won't take more than a couple of photos without draining the batteries so I wanted another like I had stolen as that was brilliant.
Oh well, keep looking eh |
Re: Ebay addiction?
Quote:
How long before the auction ended did you put your bid in forceten? |
Re: Ebay addiction?
about 2 mins, but i put a max bid in, and I was winning till the last couple of seconds when it beat me by 50p!! I was winning by at least £5 up to then as well and it was only upping each time by 50p
|
Re: Ebay addiction?
A free snipe bids for you in the last 5 seconds - a 'paid for' snipe waits till the last 2 seconds.

Re: Ebay addiction?
yeah you live and learn eh?
|
Re: Ebay addiction?
A snipe has only ever failed me once, when there had been no bids whatsoever, my snipe never happened - suppose the snipe system needs something to bid against
|
Re: Ebay addiction?
Im on ebay all the time - totally addicted - I tend to buy a lot from Japan and America though and you can get some good bargains if you look hard
Its great for selling too- I sell tons of there and have just got my mum buying and selling too ;) |
Re: Ebay addiction?
