does anyone know of a cheap shop that replaces watch batteries?

you can buy a set of watch and other batteries from the squid shop and change it your self.

I bought some from the pound shop to do my watch, only to find it needed a special tool to get into my watch, had to take it to the shop in the end.
if your planning to replace your own battery in your watch, make sure you can take the back off yourself

Also find out what battery it takes, (I used to work for the infamous G Ratner) there are a lot of different types. Boots used to be a good bet, the micro batteries they sell for hearing aids are decent quality but used to be cheaper as they didn't qualify for VAT (I think)
