Never do Mc D's, I like proper food and plenty of it, so if you see a 20 stone porker round the streets of Accy, it'll be me, so give me a wave.:)

Mc Donalds is a waist of space.
I have never known the new place get an order right yet.
There is always something missing.

Ask for a Doner Kebab (in Afgan)- that'll confuse 'em even more.

You have to be hopeless and rude with no concept of customer service to be considered for a job there! :flasher8:

Re: Mc donalds

Unfortunately, every once in a while my cravings get the better of me and I go to McD's! I do understand what everyone means about the service but to be quite honest most of the staff are very young & don't have much experience so I would rather give them the benefit of the doubt. On the other hand though - I have been in the new place a couple of times when the so called older & wiser manager acts (in my opinion - & as a customer my opinion counts) very rudely to the other staff members for no reason. I wouldn't want to work there for all the gold in china - never mind the minimum wage!

Re: Mc donalds

The simple answer to all your problems is - bitch, whinge, moan and refuse to pay for the service. You will eventually get the food for free. If still no joy, ask for the telephone number for the regional office in Manchester. As for the manager, its a pity that Warren from Blackburn Road wasn't asked to continue at the new store. He would have shaped things.

i went to mcds the other day in preston they managed to short change me by £2 (which i got back)and gave us a cheese burger instead of a double cheese burger!!

I've been to a Mac D's in Orlando - and it's completely different. The burgers do have real meat in them, you pay for a drink they had over one of their cups and you can refill as many times as you like. They also had a tank of baby Alligators in the restaurant - not sure what that was about though! (Don't worry - they weren't on the menu!)

I Disagree With The Lot Of You! Mc Donalds Delivers The Best Food And Drinks But I Do Agree The Service Is'nt Upto Standard!

Sparkologist 23-10-2004 11:02

Re: Mc donalds

The only thing on the menu I'll eat are the McChicken Sandwiches. The McD's beefburgers and all their variants are of a very poor standard, taste-wise, compared to Burger King; and as for the Fillet o' Fish, all I can say is, it has never ever seen water.

It has to be said that fast food establishments like Ronnie Mac's, Burger king and Kfc can be a godsend when working in some of the far flung corners of the world. The shares in McDonalds in China shot through the roof when Wingy, Royski and myself were there earlier this year.

Again went to mcds the other week n got kids a choc milkshake each i went to take a drink before passing it over and i thought they were trying to poison us it was the most foul tasting thing that has ever ventured over my tounge yuk i had to spit it out ( very un lady like) and so i tried the other one and that was worse. We took them back and complained he said whats wrong with it i said taste it needless to say he wouldnt he gave us 2 fresh ones they were better i may as well just find them an ice cream van next time..

If you could take a look at the manufacturing facilities of any of the fast food chains I can guarantee that NONE of you would EVER want to go near one of them again, much less eat in one of them.

That's right Willow...I once worked in a Holiday Hotel as second chef....My god I had to spend all day just trying to get my area clean.

Went into a restaurant in London and asked if they had Salmonela...the waiter (Albanian) asked if I wanted it baked or fried? :p :)

On the subject of clean - or rather the opposite - you should have seen the place we had the misfortune of staying in for two nights this week. :s_sick:

a few days a week one of the lads at work drives up to the rising bridge mac ds . He went up today with the usual order consisting of about 11 burgers and chips etc and got complained at for not ringing up first the girl on the desk had a real go at him . He then got back to work to find a burger missing so went back up of which the same girl then called him a liar and was abusive so he asked her name as her badge was missing to file a complaint she completely ignored him and closed the door on the drive through definately wont be going there for a while again in fear of what they ll do to the food we order but rung head office and complained waiting to see what they do now

Re: Mc donalds

Went shopping with my friend a few weeks ago and had the misfortune of going to Blackburn Mc D's. After protesting that I never do Mc D's she finally persuaded me and my God it certainly lived down to my expectations. The new chicken flatbread was full of limp lettuce, something that tasted similar to chilli sauce and another sauce that I assumed was mayo but didn't taste of anything. It was in a rather tough pitta bread. When I bit into it, the chicken type substance slid around in all the sauce and damn near flew out of the pitta onto the floor, where quite frankly it would have been better off. If this chicken has ever hatched from an egg I'll eat my hat, and lets face it, it would probably be tastier.:D

Very true lettie

If im ever in town and need some food id rather just go hungry rather than buy the fast food cr*p at Mc Ds

Lettie, I've also had that chicken flatbread, at the Mcd's at Ewood, I thought it was good, though I was starving. I dont mind it occasionally, though nothing can beat a Greggs cheese and onion pastie!

Re: Mc donalds

While I was away for Christmas I had occaision to visit a Macdonalds in Blackpool. (The one adjacent to Morrisons, South Shore, for the officianado's amongst you) I know I said I would rather eat the soles of my own shoes than eat at Macdonalds, but it was late and we were in a hurry, and I experienced a sort of masochistic desire to reassure myself that it was truly as horrible a gastronomic experience as I remembered.

I was not disappointed.

I ordered a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, large Fries and a large Coffee. The Burger came in a flimsy card box and the Fries in an open-ended card packet and the Coffee in a card cup with a plastic lid. The Burger was firmly welded to the base of it's box which necessitated a complete deconstruction of the box to exticate it intact and it even then it took some layers of paper with it. The bun was steamed at the top and baked to crispness at the bottom. And, it has to be said, the entire ensemble bore about as much relationship to the advertised photograph as HBC does to efficient local government. Which is to say, none at all.

The "meat" in the sandwich looked like the sort of novelty dried burger I might buy for Acrylic-biff from a pet store. It was overcooked and had obviously been stored for quite some time and had the consistency of a damp digestive biscuit. Overall It was dark brown but flecked with particles of other varying colours. There was little recogniseable taste that was not swamped by the taste of the processed cheese slice, gherkin and tomatao sauce.

The fries were limp and greasy. I cannot say that they were tasteless, because they were not. But whatever taste they did have bore very little relation to that of fried potato.

I thought that I might have been on safer ground when I discovered that the coffee was made by Kenco, but sadly the best that can be said for it is that it was warm and wet.

All in all a thoroughly dispiriting experience and one that I have absolutley no wish to repeat. Had I been paying for the "treat" the lot would have been sent back. As it is, I wasn't. However, I shall, at some stage, take a photograph of one of macdonalds offerings and send it, with a copy of the advertised photograph to the Trading Standards Office. I am sure that there is some violation of the Trades Descriptions Act here.

Marks out of 10 ... 1!

Re: Mc donalds

I can't believe you gave them 1 out of 10 AB.. I think that's very generous of you, personally I would give them a big fat 0 for the service and I'm afraid the food (and I use that term loosley) would be in minus figures.:D

Re: Mc donalds

Ha ha Ha! I think that we should have a scale of appreciation of food and food outlets, which runs from 1 - 10. with 1 being Macdonalds and 10 being 'absolute bliss'. I should like the term macdonalds to become a term of abuse, as in "Eeuurrrgh- how very Macdonalds." or "Are you going to change your socks dear, they are getting a bit Macdonalds?"

If the Observer can have a reporter wandering round sampling the delights of local take-aways why can't we? How about reviews of take-aways, Indians, Fish and Chip shops, Pub grub, restaurants and food stalls on the market.

Supermarkets are the spawn of the devil and the death of town centres and thus rate a 1 by default, no matter how hard they try to be nice (It's all a front anyway, they just want your money)!
