How Do You Abuse Your Dishwasher?
 

I don't have to remind many of you that my domestic skills are worse than my social skills, (both are only on show on very rare occasions).

So when I saw that cd stand being offered by nikkival I thought it would be an ideal replacement for the bookcase that I have been using.
I went to pick it up this morning and because she had been storing it in the garage for a while it had become a little dusty, (she was actually giving it a quick rub down when I called), I thanked her for the stand and told her not to worry, I'll do that when I get home.

It has 8 removable wire trays which let's face it was going to make this a fiddly job. So I propped it in the corner to give it a good coat of looking at before actually tackling it.

A brew was needed before anything could be done so I broke the seal on the kitchen door and entered. While kettle boiling I'm looking around this cavernous room at all the unfamiliar items that are there.
My eyes fell on the love of my life The Dishwasher, it has been a godsend to me as instead of adding to the landfill with paper plates and plastic cutlery I have actually been using real plates etc.
I opened the door and with a little rough calculation worked out that by removing the top basket I could just about fit all 8 trays into it.

It has been churning away now for an hour or so and the trays have come out spotless. It has however created another problem, years of living on the shelf have shown their toll and my c.d. cases are looking a little grubby.

So a little competition with karma going to the person that guesses:-

A/ How many c.d. cases can fit in a dishwasher?

and

B/ How many of them will survive the adventure? (are standard c.d. cases dishwasher friendly? only time will tell).

So having shared this mundane little morning with you what abuse have you ever put your dishwasher, (or indeed any domestic appliance), to that wasn't thought of by the manufacturer?).

I wash my venetian blinds in the bath.
I have used a hairdryer to defrost fridge and freezer (not recommended)

If that was an entry for the competition, so far you're the closest, but really you should be giving some sort of estimated figure!

It'll take about 400 if you stack then in the tays but you'll only get 2 out that won't be foggy.......

although I'm beginning to see your wisdom, being an idiot I was thinking of a washing machine thingy.....

never having had one, n cannot even remember seeing one, i would guesstimate that all the cd cases would be knackered after this experience.

I never abused mine when I had 1 (kitchen too small now:()I loved it too much:D

Please remember to take the paper thingy's out when ya put the cases in:)

As for how many will survive, a 30 degree wash cycle will be more kind to them:D
