Re: Do you believe in ghosts??

I believed, until I watched most haunted. WHAT A FAKE that is. I do still believe, but they don't half make a mockery out of it.

I have actually been to Most Haunted live in Blackpool, we had a laugh, lets put it that way.;)

Re: Do you believe in ghosts??

Must admit im not sure if i believe in ghosts, have never seen anything yet, keep watching all these most haunted style programmes in the hope that i wll see something to give me reason to belive but as of yet nothing. Have experienced a few strange things, strange unexplained smells etc but nothing that has yet convinced me. Although saying that, if i did see something i dont know how id react

I don't believe in ghosts, or supernatural things
My house aint haunted (until Mr Nobody ate all the chocolate biscuits again!)

Afterlife and such is more of what people like to look forward to, more hope than belief

I think there's more to Heaven and Earth. I've never encountered a ghost myself but wouldn't dismiss the idea that they exist.

My great nephew he's 5 in a couple of weeks used to talk to people - his mum would say who are you talking to and he'd point to a spot and say that man there and point over the other side of the room. So basically yes i believe there are ghosts.

jaysay 31-03-2008 09:34

Re: Do you believe in ghosts??

Once had a very funny experience in the Stop and Rest Ossy about 30 years ago. My mate was relief landlord and we were having a chat after he had locked up, all the inside doors were locked, when we heard the taproom door open, the place went cold and very eerie. We checked the doors and they were still lock, it wasn't long before the front door was locked as well, with me on the outside. When the landlord came back we told him, he just laughed and said its alright its only oud Jim having his nightly walk he wouldn't have harmed you, you should have just left him a rum on the bar. Sod that for a game of soldiers:eek::eek::eek::eek:

right...... i have the full story now about the municipal hall ghost,

Some ppl think its an old hall keeper that died there, some ppl think its performer that got boo'd off the stage and said he would be back.

There is a ghost, my grandad has seen it.He says it doesnt look to be male or female just a see through shape and you only see it out of the corner of your eye(like when you can still see the tv when your not looking at it) but it disapears when you look directly at it, it makes a lot of noise when no one else is there, liike tapping a wine glass with a spoon, like its gunna make a speech, to get attention. It moves through walls as well and is only in the basement.

The strangest bit is thats you cant see its feet, like its walking in knee deep water.

Theres another one that you dont see that opens all the doors, doors that have been locked when you are in the building on your own. Always when the christmas show had finished. The hall keeper always locked the front door and walked around the building to check for cigarettes burning in ashtrays and to check that everyone had left. When he got back to the front door and tried to set the alarm it wouldnt because the door was open.

The cctv showed..................(drum roll please, build up the suspense).................................nobody go near the door.

My uncle was a guide at Townley Hall (He still lives in the cottages there) and when he locked up at night he was regularly followed by a ghostly woman, she did`nt bother him just followed him round after a while he just got used to it. Me, i would say i don`t really believe yet but show me a ghost and i`ll soon be changing my mind!!!!

I think id probably freak if i saw one, really dont know how id react. Have heard strange noises and had strange unsure feelings in certain places with no explanations but have never yet seen anything. My mums seen a few but i never have.

Re: Do you believe in ghosts??

Yeah i believe in ghosts and the supernatural.
I can't believe we are the only people in the universe.
I saw a ghost once in scotland but it didn't freak me out in fact i felt very calm and peaceful!
Also had unexplained smells after my mum died every so often i would get a whiff of her favourite perfume.
My dog Duke also used to sit at the bottom of the stairs and bark,i believe this was my mum too, they say dogs and cats can sense things like that.
You all probably think i'm crazy but its what i believe.

The houses are on Queensway!! And yes they are supposed to be very, very haunted!! After the last tenants left because of Poltergeist activities, they never placed any family to live there again apparently.

Re: Do you believe in ghosts??

A friend of mine used to live on Queensway. She never experienced anything but then she moved and another friend moved in to that same house. She was convinced it was haunted and even had someone from the church go round to bless it. That was the first I ever heard of hauntings on there but it seems she isn't the only one to have had the experience.

Yes I believe in ghosts. I have experienced a few, one very nasty unpleasant character in rooms above the Skipton Building Society in Blackburn. I've even photographed a couple. I posted one of the photos on BurnleyWeb ages ago.

The house where my late husband and I used to live had a presence but it wasn't frightening, just irritating at times. Mischeivous.

I have different theories about ghosts. I don't think they are all the same thing. I believe some are like recordings in the air and cannot interact. I also believe that sometimes spirits of deceased people can appear to us and then there are the demonic entities.

I recently saw a Tv programme in which physicists were exploring whether there were 11 dimensions - not just the 3 we experience.
Maybe ghosts are manifestations of one of those dimensions where our 'energy' is released to when the physical body is worn out

I don't believe in ghost and would stay anywhere you like.

I don't do religion either, dead is dead as in the end. I think religion is for people who need to believe there must be more to life than there really is.

Seeing as I believe dead is dead it would be a touch hypocritical for me to believe in ghosts. Places can be spooky because you mind lets them be, haunted no.

I do beleive in spirits(not the Jack Daniels type).....and yes i have seen spirits......I have heard footsteps......I have been tapped on the shoulder....i felt someone sit on my bed when my husband was working night....and when I lifted my head up, thinking he had come home because he wasn't well, there was no-one there.

I often smell cigarettes in the back bedroom where my computer is(no-one smokes in our house)....I take this to be my dear old Dad.....watching what i am doing on the computer(which he would have loved).....and if this qualifies me for the funny farm....I'm ready to go!

I am an atheist too but I have had paranormal experiences. It hasn't converted me to religion, but made me aware that there may be another form of existance running parallel with the one we know of.

Perhaps one of the non believers could explain this, my son experienced a weird sensation when my grandson woke in the night, just after they had moved home, he heard my grandson crying, and when he tried to move, he felt 'held down' this happened several times, and he never mentioned it to me or his mother for 2 years, until he moved again, when he felt this presence, his partner noticed several times, and says there was genuine terror in his face, though the tension lessened in the room over time, unlnown to him, his partner had a blessing or something similar done, and it never happened again, my son didnt know, but noticed within a few days that it didnt happen anymore!

My sister once had this. It scared her witless!! They usual put it down to sleep apnea!! You wake up before the part of your brain that tells you to move wakes up.

Odd that it coincided with his partner getting the blessing done.

I do think there is something to it, not sure what, I have heard noises before when I lived at Christchurch St and I ran out of the house in a hurry ! (others living there had seen things too)
But "Most Pointless" just gets me mad, I have never seen anyone less suited to ghost hunting than Yvette Fielding, she jumps and screams at her own shadow.
