Uk and myself are looking for somewhere nice to eat on sunday afternoon. My mum is babysitting Em so we're taking the opportunity to have a nice meal, we just don't know where to go.

Any cuisine considered and will travel!!!

Mitali Indian Restaurant on Warner Street in Accy, They have a Sunday buffet in the afternoon which is excellent and good value, well worth a visit.

thanks guys. We've never been to the dog so that could be a possibility. Mitali we both love but we're looking to spread our wings and go somewhere new to us.

The White Bull at Ribchester?

Does good food, and in the unlikely event of Sunday being a nice day, has a nice garden, plus there are still nice places to walk afterwards.

The White Bull - Ribchester

Backlane ends at Colne, used to be the Hare and Hounds
Skipton Old Rd Foulridge Colne BB8 7EP
Now't fancy, no table cloths or owt like that, just good home cooking and a free 1lb loaf of warm bread to cut yourself with plenty of garlic butter to start with, sell real ales too, on the back road to Skipton from Colne - go up past the golf club (1st left off roundabout at the one which you could turn right at to go to Trawden) It's about 2-3 mile up there on your left, middle of nowhere, proper country pub
Pete might fancy their 32oz steak :D
Ring 1st, gets very busy Sat and Sundays

Try Spice Lounge which was formally the New Inns at Rishton. Well worth the journey. On Sunday they do a buffet for 9.95, I have never tried it but their normal menu is excellent, the Garlc Special Balti is to die for!!

Its NOT the one on the road from Colne to Earby, both classed as foulridge and "had" the same name, the one on Skipton old road has now changed its name to the back lane end

It's "C" on this map

Coach & Horses, Haslingden old Road, do an excellent home cooked menu.
Also Duckworth Hall, Oswaldtwistle do a good menu & serve 'til 5pm ish. Sparrowhawk at Fence is good too, and Fishermans Retreat at Edenfield.
Bon Apetit

The White Bull - Ribchester

I have been here for a meal. Have to say, it is lovely food. The place is lovely, BUT on the down side, I find the eating area is way too small for the amount of people that use that place.

I felt we were sat on other people's knee's and when I decided to nip to the loo, found it very hard to even get out of my place, because someone was sat soooo close behind me.

White Horse in Helmshore is good in fact brilliant but pricey.

Me and spug went last year theyve done a refit since then. They get their meat from the farm at the back of them....

Sit these either side of you next time, to ensure you have enough space, and if people still insist on crowding you, tell them they're welcome to sit one of them on their knee.:D

For Goodness sake Royboy - stop gloating. Not everybody is interested in moving to Spain - I for one wouldn't -even if the food and wine were free :p

No you've got that wrong....There is little to choose between Darwen and Ossie...I have had the experience of living in both. I am fortunate to have saved enough to move to the country of my choice and intend to live my life to the full in the years on this earth that I am allowed.
I don't winge too much because life has been good to me...I have an excellent and loving partner who has stood by me for many years and is here now looking over my shoulder as I make this post.
Don't tar all men with the same brush...You may have had a bad experience with one or more men but life goes on.
Dont take sides Margeret read things as you find them.
I had no intention of gloating. Life has moved on for me and if the lesson can be learned from people in a similar position can benifit from the position I find Myself in..Then all well and good

Re: Nice place to eat on sunday anyone?

Thanks for your help everyone, we will take all sugestions into consideration when our next outing appears over the horizon. However today, due to UK getting a call to referee a footy match, we went with The Calfs Head at Worston, although we did go into the carvery which we hadn't tried before (we usually eat in the conservatory), as usual the grub was first class.

Thanks all
