Ear Problem

Help!!

I dont know whats happened but over the past hour Id say Ive been experiencing something strange with my ears. Its really hard to describe but its almost as if theyve popped, everything seems amplified (even my kids which is not good lol) but also seems muffled too. My ears dont "pop" when I swallow like they normally would but I also have a slight ringing sensation. I am finding this really annoying but I dont know what to do to sort it. One ear is slightly worse than the other.

Anyone any ideas of the cause / a cure??

(I dont put anything in my ears like cotton buds etc so have no idea what has caused it, it has just come on really)

Do you have pain in them? If so it could be ear infection, it could be anyway. Really you need the Doc to have at in them.

Re: Ear Problem

if you cant get hold of the docs then go to the chemist and get some otex, you may have wax in your ears, or even ask the chemist if they can help you with your problem

Warm a teaspoon put a few drops of Olive oil on it and get someone to gently pour it in you ear, leave it for a while, that an excuse for lie down.
After 1/4 hour lie on the other side, with paper hankey under your ear and look at what come out, if its changed colour then its wax.

Thats what mu mam did when we were kids to disolve wax in the ears.

If you have got a build up of wax, you will need to use Otex drops for one week before the Docs with think about syringing them...and it does sound like a build of wax.
I had a similar problem a couple of years ago and it is just as you have described it.

Emzy if you had problems as a child just be wary of syringing. I had a lot of trouble with mine and my eardrums ended up perforated. Years later my doctor said they needed syringing, unfortunately he didn't check my records and just did them. Found out later was not meant to get water in them so it really hurt. Just make sure your eardrums are okay before getting them done;)

They dont seem to bad this morning, however I have woken up absolutely smothered in a cold so I think that may be to blame :( will have to wait for the cold to clear now before i go doctors

Thanks for the warning though, I meant problems by earache not major problems as a child luckily but lets hope this clears with the cold

And that is exactly what some doctor in the Independent was recommending the other week.
