Broken Tooth

Has anyone ever broken a tooth on a piece of food?

Every Friday afternoon Reece and i always watch a movie together, yesterday i went to Tesco and bought us some popcorn, we settled down to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks and as i started eating the popcorn i noticed a really hard bit in my mouth, i spat it out and noticed half of my tooth had broken on a hard piece of popcorn, i've just emailed Butterkist to see what they have to say about it.

anyone else ever complained about anything like this?

yep, a couple of years ago i was outside drinking beer and then suddenly a bit of tooth came out, after eating summat!

After a few months I noticed it starting to go a grey colour, like a div I ignored it, and about a year later I got the most excruating pain in that tooth (what was left of it)
ended up getting a infection in the damn thing, and ended up having the thing pulled out:(
not very nice!!!

butterkist wont do out, they'll just say some hard kernels can still remain

Certainly have. it's a few years ago now and my eldest chipped a tooth while he was eating some Campbell's meatballs I had bought from Asda.
If I remember rightly, I told Asda about it & they wrote off to Campbells for me. I received an apology and a tenner's worth of vouchers.

Not a broken tooth but still painful, I was eating a wholemeal roll with seeds in one day at work. I was chewing a piece when I bit hard on a seed - and dislocated my jaw! It hurt like mad for several days and eating was not easy. I was contemplating going to A & E to see if they could sort it out when I yawned, one evening, and there was a loud crack and my jaw was OK again. :)

Doubt that Butterkist are going to give a damn about your teeth, basically they'll just say that hard kernels are going to remain even after the food is prepared, and if you counter with saying it wasn't a hard kernel they are going to say it could have happened with any item of food and its likely to be the quality of your teeth in the first place and nothing to do with the product. They might send you something just to keep you quiet though but at most I think it'll be vouchers to buy their own product!

What is the difference between a dentist and a doctor? Other than the fact that one only really pays attention to what your saying when it comes to the bill.

Yup, I broke half a mollar while eating some nuts (shell left in I guess! Also bit down on another shell piece and had to have a rooot canal a few weeks back.

After digging drilling poking and prodding, the dentist decided she couldn't save the tooth. Still cost me $350 out of pocket and then she sent me for an emergency tooth extraction. I knew it was a problem when she said stuff like "ow, I don't like the look of that" and "I just can stop the bleeding!"

The tooth yanker spent about 30 minutes trying to get the mollar out. I knew I was in real trouble when he told his assistant to go an get the crier! Yet another $250 for that dibocal.

I do hope not to hear another dentist drill for a long, long time YUCK!!

Why does a dentist always look unhappy?

Because he is always looking down in the mouth.

I broke my tooth on a pizza the other day. Im not blaming the take-away, these things happen. Its not like there was a "foreign object" in the pizza causing me to break my tooth, there just not in the greatest of condition and I will admit that, still trying to get a dentist but they have had many years without dental check-ups, repairs etc they arent going to be brilliant really. So ill not be complaining to Petra lol

When i was about 14 i lossened a tooth on a hard jacket potato skin at christmas, so out it fell but ( it was still a milk tooth!!) anyway the tooth that should have grown to replace it never grew so when i was 16 i went in hospital for a tooth transplant !they cut the gum took out the unerrupted tooth and stiched it back into my gum and jobs a good `un until about 2 years later when the same tooth was pulled clean out by a fruit bon bon..!!! So then i ended up with one of those false ones that clips on round another tooth with a wire only to end up loosing at at the bottom of a swimming pool..........so now i have just left the gap, its a lot less hassle:rolleyes:
