Random House on Whalley Road
 

I'm randomly curious about a house on Whalley Road, Accrington. I think its number two hundred and something and its an old house towards the Queens Road West end of Whalley Road. It's a big house with a fair size garden and the ground floor is suspicously boarded up. The house is quite obviously empty and as far as I can tell not in any way for sale.
Does anyone know the story behind it or what is going on with that house?

dyke nook is further down whalley road than queens road west, i will look next time im up that way.

If it's owt like this 1 on the right hand side of the map, then that is Dyke Nook, only 1 I can think of that is boarded up round here.
Used to be a children's home when I was younger, not sure if it was used for anything before or after that
