what level of skill are you after?

basic cells, formulas, links, graphs etc?

More advanced stuff like pivot tables etc?

Or Macros and Visual Basic????

There is a lot of difference between these. I taught myself using a book and playing with it daily. I can and have written a load of VBA, automated data input systems etc. I would however say I am a novice against one bloke I know who is an absolute magician with the sodding thing.

My question was more about right tools for the job. Amazing how many times over the years I've seen people struggle to maintain a spreadsheet when in actual fact they wanted a database :)

my dad used to be head of IT at Bowland High School and has taught me everything about computers, including Microsoft Excel. I take it that's the type of programme you'd be using?
Anyway, if so, let me know. My dad is now retired and loves teaqching people new skills! Let me know, I'll ask him x
