Re: Gambler's Cave

The illusion that it was a cave was good enough for me. Blame the people who labelled it 'gamblers cave' for my error. I only know what I was taught. I was obviously taught a load of cobblers. It still was the closest thing we have to natural beauty. The rock, grass, the air and water were all natural.

@ shakermaker: No problem. I'm always up for intelligent convo. What is the big bang if it isn't chance? An evolution of atoms in a pinprick of time? Don't be silly, it happened in an instant and people still don't know how or why. Please explain it to me, because no scientist can (convincingly). There is no evidence...yet. Same goes with evolution. The sudden emergence of language and a much larger brain capacity in a relatively short time. No other evolutionary stage before or since happened in quite the same timespan. Then you have the missing link, which throws a huge spanner in the works. I don't disagree with Darwin (he was a great mind and a fearless explorer). I just think he didn't/couldn't explain everything (and which man alone can?). His theory of natural seclection is generally sound, but does not extend to the creation of the universe (it's for lifeforms, right?). I see God as good and love and everything positive about reality, not a bearded man sitting in a cloud on a throne. Thus I do beleive in God, just not the sexist, elitist, distorted view of God the 3 major religions are based upon.

You're right insofar as there's not much known about the beginning of the universe but you know what? We're not far off knowing.
I'm not a scientist nor do i claim to be, and so I'll point you towards a fella that can explain the early cosmology much better than I. I read this a while ago: Professor Stephen Hawking

Is anyone else reading that in an internal robotic voice? :D

I bought A Brief History of Time years ago, but didn't understand it fully.
There is no point in my rereading it now because he has decided that that theory is now outdated by his latest one about dark matter.
I will just have to 'die wondering' OR maybe that is when I will find out ;)

Quote Instilling fear in children other than your own is abuse

The only thing that stuck out in my mind from a long winded rant that was lost in that statement.

don't expect a parent of the year award.
