You can't just move into empty deserted buildings and start using them, even if you do manage to contact the owners. They can be fraught with all manner of dangers. Why are they empty in the first place? Is there damage which could pose a danger to anyone using the building? Have you taken legal advice regarding your liability if anyone is hurt in the building? What about simple things like basic buildings insurance? Supposing a slate falls off and hits a passer by? Would it be your problem or the owners?

I see the Hargreaves is now boarded up & BlackHorse & Hope & Anchor up for let, a shame...

hope is not the end of the Hargreaves spent many a happy hour (and a few late ones) in the 80' and early 90's even when it became muldoons it was still a decent pub

Last time went in a few monrths ago it was run down, the beer was awful and surprise surprise it was devoid of customers

That was my local in the mid to late 70s, I actually did the work on the pub in 74 when it was refurbished for the first time, a mate of mine took it over running it when it reopened, he was called Denis Smalley, sadly he died a few years ago, his wife was the stewardess at the Brooks Club for a while too
