is it snowing there?

Can someone keep me updated as to when its snowing and how bad it gets? Julie used to do it so I could set off home if the roads were getting bad but she's not in Accy much now. :D

Down in sunny cheshire there is often nothing when its inches deep at home. Its just thrown a nice scattering down here :D

Yeah it's snowing here.

Stay where you are, and we'll tell you when it's safe to leave Cheshire.

If we don't get back to you by Easter, assume it's safe to return.:D

(It's really not bad, just a few odd flakes.);)

Re: is it snowing there?

What you want is some one who lives round Sherfin in Haslingden, its always a top coat colder up there than down in Accy.
Theres a slight thaw on at the moment 12:36 hrs.

and I thought you liked me.... :D

If I wanted to stay here any longer than I have to I would have moved by now and saved myself 2.5 hours a day and over 25 thousand pounds in fuel alone!

Re: is it snowing there?

Not too bad in Accy, got about an inch or two on the cars outside here, worse on the Hassy bypass and round Haslingden, I'd to scrape about 6" off the car this morning

Re: is it snowing there?

Arrived at work (clayton) usual time, side streets not too clever, main roads are ok with a bit of caution to allow for the nutters, had to use 4 wheel drive on side streets but not on the road. My neice has just informed me that her school is closed, is in bacup and rawtenstall grammar.. teachers!! like they dont get enough time off already!

derekgas 02-12-2008 07:08

Re: is it snowing there?

Heh, I got up early, spent an age getting Julies and my car off teh estate (very steep road teh only way out), set off but traffic was at a standstill so gave up and went home, currently working from home :D

I've had to leave my car about 1/2 mile away from home so I know I'll be able to go and collect Siobhan and Julie later. :D

Doesn't always work, though. Was driving at walking pace through Simonstone this morning and got rammed from a sidestreet by someone who couldn't stop. :(

The teachers at my boy's school (he was nearest the prang!) have been complaining that Ribblesdale is closed. One of them had to drive past that school to get to this one!

Of course it's snowing here .... but not enough to get the plows out, just a little sanding at the busier intersections.
