I don't know if I'm losing my marbles or not.:confused: But sometimes when I visit here, I check out the pics .... just to eyeball some of the people who post regularly .... and it seems to me that you guys "look" Lancashire ... is it possible ... does it have something to do with the accent shaping the facial features? Or has living in the colonies for so long affected my brain:eek: Does anyone else see this, or is it just me?

There is definitely a very local use of exagerated mouth movements, as examplified by Les Dawson and Roy Barraclough's Cissie and Ada.

It's all to do with working in t' noisey mills, when you had to mouth what you wanted to say to your workmates.

don't think ya can tell if people are lancastrians etc, but go abroad to warmer climes ya can sure tell whose english, we sit on balcony regular n laugh at the "Milk Bottles" or "Lobsters":hehetable

No, your theory has excellent grounding Eric .. genes in confined areas of procreation LOL, climate, local industries, dialect affecting facial expressions, local diet (you are what you eat), garments, blah, blah, blah, they all have impact on our physical appearance.
