Public Holidays ?

Does anyone know why our illustrious council of excellence can dictate that public holidays are different to eveyone elses ?

We have a query with the council tax at the moment, rang the call centre who are working but there is a problem they can't resolve and it has to be referred to head office. That will have to wait until 5th January when they re-open

So when did 29th/30th/31st December and January 2nd become public holidays ?

None of the Council gyms are open up here(Glasgow), over the festive period.

A law unto their own.

Not at all, but will I get a refund of my council tax for the 4 days they aren't working, or maybe even half a refund as some of them are working ;)

Perhaps they got you and Peter Britcliffe mixed up. :D

I'd be careful if I were you, some of your staff may be applying for the cushy numbers at Scaitcliffe House ;)

And those statutory days would be 25th 26th December and the 1st Jan. Any extras should be taken from annual leave but there should always be staff in on the non stat days to sort out problems and answer queries.

How do we know that the staff haven't had to use their annual leave?

I don't know whether they do or not.

In that case then management should be reprimanded for being unable to organise staff rota's and holidays ;)

I work in a call centre and we are operating on a skeleton staff until 5th Jan....and by that I don't mean only the thin staff are working LOL :D

I think the council call centre should be open with skeleton staff and the rest using annual leave. Someone should be there to deal with queries.

I did not say they were not using annual leave - not all of them should be allowed to be off at the same time though.
