How much more dire do you want?
The funeral was today by the way and I would like to say a big thank you to the many, many people who turned up to say goodbye to John.

I am so sorry to hear off your loss. I had read about your nephew through the Accrington Observer online and thought how sad, it is hard to imagine as a family how you must all be feeling.
Just sad to think that he must have felt that they were no other options available to him.

Kate did mention it.
When people think of roast beef they think of topside -expensive
We roasted brisket - much cheaper
How many young folk have ever eaten brisket?
even if they even knew what it is:rolleyes:

I'll refer to the decently dressed bit.
When I was 5, I was certainly a trend setter.Mrs Highams(Of Highams Mills) used to leave remnants of cloth at my grans house were I lived with 6 others.
Gran was a weaver at the mill.
Have you any idea how embarrassed I was going to school in striped shorts made from bed sheeting.:o:o:o:o

I used to make all my own clothes.
My son wore romper suits made from striped shirt poplin remnants and matinee coats made from unravelled and re-knitted cardigans.
Lost skills need to be taught to folk to help them through hard times.
...and what a waste spending scarce dole money on packets of nappies:eek:
I worked full time when he was 1yr old and still found time to boil terry nappies

Its a pity that Gary isnt on here tonight - he would find a pic of a designer suit which resembles 'pinstriped' bed ticking - good hard wearing stuff it was too
