thanks flashy... its only between nelson and burnley that it doesnt stop at every stop

Between Nelson and Burnley X43 runs as a limited stop route, serving only the stops shown on the detailed maps available on this site.

Don't you mean the X41 ? The X43 is the one that goes from Colne to Manchester via Burnley & Rawtenstall

Re: the x43 bus

yeah its very similar to a bus that used to run from nelson to preston (x63) it used to stop at every stop in towns then go along the motorways between

Wondered why the trains make so much noise coming in to Accy, it's so they can turn off to go up Manchester Rd :D:p

Re: the x43 bus

The X buses always used to be the express ones that only stopped at certain bus stops. I think the idea was that less stops meant the overall travel time was quicker.

Your right lancsdave. The X43 doesnt go anywhere near Accrington. That route is: Nelson - Burnley - Rawtenstall - Manchester.

The one that stops on Manchester Road is the X41 which is: Blackburn -Accrington - Haslingden - Helmshore - Prestwich - Manchester.

The other bus that goes up Manchester Road is the 464 Accrington to Rochdale via Haslingden - Rawtenstall - Waterfoot - Bacup - Whitworth - Rochdale.

And the X buses will stop at any stop that you need or where someone wants to get on.

Re: the x43 bus

yep, my mistake, i was talking about the bus i used to get from nelson to manchester, thought it went through accrington

i got the bus yesterday, cost nearly a bloomin tenner to get me and ty to nelson for a 10 min dentist appointment!

Re: the x43 bus

probably be better if you got the train next time Emma

£4.50 return Accy to Nelson for you

£6.75 for both of you

it would be better going on the train for Tyler, more of an adventure

emamum 31-03-2009 09:50

Re: the x43 bus

Re: the x43 bus

ouch, i swear by trains, always check with National Rail Enquiries - Official source for UK train times and timetables before i go anywhere, if you intend going anywhere by train this summer i'd invest in a railcard, kids save 60% and adults 1/3

we went to York a few weeks back, it cost £15 for me and Reece, should have been £25, my sis took her nephew too so between us with my railcard (that only cost £24 for the year) we saved £20 in one journey

Re: the x43 bus

ive promised boyo some day trips, think we are off to the dr who museum in liverpool and a day in blackpool and looking for some other places so the saver card might be a good idea, thanks :D

Re: the x43 bus

i've been buying them for years, for me and hislordship to Blackpool return from Blackburn its £9.80, should be £17.25

i'll give you some ideas of days out, ones where you only have to pay trains fares

X40 - goes down the motorway. X41 goes the road way.
