I thought gold was bought and sold in troy ounces.

9 carat gold is 9/24ths gold the rest is a mixture of copper and silver depending on the required colour.

There is a sign in the window, from memory it says £5 per gram which is a rather vague description given that it doesn't mention for how many carat's that is :confused:

thank you lancsdave that sounds like it will be for nine carat some websites are offering £7 a gram for 9 carat but i dont want to go through sending it in the post
