passport photos?
I went to get Gracies passport photos today... the woman asked how old she was (12 weeks) and if she could support her head yet... i got her out and held up so she could see her.....she said that she couldnt use the regular passport camera and would have to do them digitally because she wasnt holding her head up which means i had to make an appointment and pay £15! for them or wait a couple of months (not possible)......
i know i should have asked while i was there but does anyone know why? i dont see what difference a different camera will make.. |
Re: passport photos?
It probably doesn't make a difference
Just getting money out of ya is a good enough reason :D £15 aint bad for a photo tho ;) |

Re: passport photos?
I was going to suggest taking your own as Retlaw has. So long as the background is white they are suitable aren't they?

Lie Gracie down on a white sheet and stand over her looking straight down through the viewfinder. The taller the photographer, the better. Zoom in so her head fills half the frame then take the shot. The rules for passports are relaxed for infants, so they don't need to have their eyes open, mouth closed and it doesn't matter if they are smiling. If you email it to me I've got the photoshop template to make a set of passport prints, I can post it back... Or bring her to the shop. ;) |

i did my great nephews because my niece had them done at supasnaps or whatever it was called and didnt like them .. so we stood him next to the fridge (the white background) and took em and printed em off ..

Re: passport photos?
Didn't realise babies needed a 'photo Em ... does it go on yours ? Can't last for the 10 years can it ? They change such a lot.. LOL.
|
Re: passport photos?
they have to have their own now, you renew after 5 years tho, they change so quickly that it seems pointless having a photo on it.. according to my grandad all babys look like winston churchill anyway :D
|
Re: passport photos?
you can take your own, put them on a memory card and print them out at asda on the little machines on the counter - it prints out 6 (or maybe its 8) at a time - they were perfectly fine for all our passorts

Re: passport photos?
We had some done at Garth Dawsons a few year ago when our daughter was about 3 months old, we sat her on a stool and i led down on the floor behind whilst supporting her head for the few seconds it took......not sure how much it cost at the time but if it was anything like £15 i would have walked out and i`d remember that......

We used this site for our baby and myself, great service and only took 2 days to be returned https://www.paspic.com/howdoesitwork.php Neil |
Re: passport photos?
............and we had the picture on her passport from her being 3 months old until she was 5..!!!!!! stupid really as they change so much...
|
Re: passport photos?
Thanks everyone... i went in there and the guy that did the photos (not the woman that told me she was too young ) said she could hold her head up (i did say that :D) and he could do them the usual way which would cost £6.50
its a gorgeous photo obviously, wish i could have the same one enlarged for my wall :D |
Re: passport photos?
I got my six week old son photos done at Garth Dawsons in Accy Town Centre on Little Blackburn Road.
They charged £7.50, laid him on a white sheet on cushioned ground and gave me choice of photo before printing them off. I didn't need an appointment but you can make one if it's more convenient. |
